Bamboo is the most important thing in a Panda鈥檚 life. Pandas have to eat 45 pounds of bamboo a day. Eating takes 14 hours. Pandas always live near water. They need to drink every day. In winter, when mountain streams freeze, Pandas come down to the valleys to drink.

Pandas also eat meat but only when they can get it. Pandas only eat two different things, plants and meat.
